Delta Community’s new Douglasville branch manager excited for credit union role

Douglas County Sentinel

Delta Community Credit Union’s Douglasville branch has announced that Henry Austin is the new branch manager.

He looks forward to supporting the credit union’s mission and serving members in the community. With an innate appreciation for lending, Austin entered the financial services industry to help individuals and families achieve their financial goals.

“I’ve always been motivated to do right by people,” Austin said. “Financial services play an important role during major life events such as buying a house or paying for college, and it is extremely rewarding to meet people’s needs and make a positive difference in their lives.”

During his banking career, Austin had a mentor, who suggested he would find greater fulfillment working at a credit union. It wasn’t long before Austin realized his mentor was right; he was attracted to the not-for-profit cooperative structure of credit unions and their focus on personalized care and financial empowerment.

So, when the branch manager position opened at Delta Community, Austin saw it as an opportunity knocking at the door. He answered.

Now part of Georgia’s largest credit union, Austin brings seven years of leadership experience to his new role, having held managerial roles at Fifth Third and Chase Banks.

Opened in 2021, the Douglasville branch serves approximately 8,900 Delta Community members working and living in Douglas County and western metro Atlanta communities. As a long-time resident of Douglas County, Austin is excited to serve the region’s residents.

“During my financial services career, this is the first time I’ve had the opportunity to live and work in my community, and I feel an immediate sense of connection to anyone who enters our branch,” Austin said. “I look forward to meeting our current members and welcoming others to join the Delta Community family.”

Austin is also passionate about volunteering and is an advocate for financial literacy. Through Delta Community’s network of community partners, Austin welcomes opportunities to partner with local schools and organizations to promote financial education.
