Delta Community Board of Directors Elects New Chairman and Vice Chairman
Linda O’Shea appointed to lead board of Georgia’s largest credit union
ATLANTA (Jan. 31, 2025) – Delta Community Credit Union is pleased to announce that Linda O’Shea and Charlie Boyajian now serve respectively as chairman and vice chairman of its board of directors. The elections occurred during a monthly board meeting on March 26 following Delta Community’s annual membership meeting on March 17. O’Shea had served as vice chairman since 2011 and was chosen by her peers to succeed Delta Community’s longtime chairman, Jim Diffley, who held the position for 38 years before his passing in September 2024.
"Our board oversees Delta Community’s business strategy and helps to ensure our constant focus on member service and sound, sustainable operational practices,” said Hank Halter, chief executive officer. “We are fortunate to have a highly talented, engaged group of directors who bring different expertise to support management and benefit members. The depth, strength and commitment of our board is evident in Delta Community’s ongoing success and this smooth, effective transition in board officers.”
"Serving on Delta Community’s board over the past 20 years has been a privilege, and I am honored to assume the responsibilities of chairman,” O’Shea said. “I appreciate the encouragement and vote of confidence from my fellow directors. I share their deep belief in Delta Community’s not-for-profit mission and cooperative service principles. I look forward to partnering with them to further enhance the value that Delta Community delivers to our members and local communities.”
O’Shea and Boyajian have extensive career experience, varied professional skills and many years of volunteer service on Delta Community’s board and related committees. O’Shea holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of West Georgia. During her 30-plus-year career, she held progressive management roles in finance and human resources, where she specialized in compensation. She worked at Delta Air Lines for more than 22 years and at Aon for more than 10 years. She was appointed to Delta Community’s board in 2003. Boyajian holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and a master’s degree in computer science and business administration from the University of Houston. He has been a commercial pilot at Delta Air Lines for more than 36 years and is currently an A330 captain. He joined Delta Community’s board in 2005.
In addition to O’Shea and Boyajian, Delta Community’s other independent directors include: Secretary and Treasurer Lemuel R. Wimbish, Jr.; Alan Arnold; Allison Ausband; Esther Hammond; Robin Stricklin; and Matt Sullivan. Halter, in his capacity as CEO, is the only member of management on the board.
