Cash advances on my Visa Credit Card

What constitutes a 'cash advance' on a Delta Community Visa and is there a fee?

Cash advance transactions include the following:

  • ATM withdrawals
  • Withdrawals at the teller line
  • Online Banking transfers from a credit card account to a share draft account
  • Overdraft from credit card to checking

The interest rate for cash advances is the same as it is for purchases but cash advances begin accruing interest from the date you get the cash advance or from the first day of the billing cycle in which the cash advance is posted to your account, whichever is later, whereas purchases begin accruing interest after the statement due date if they remain unpaid.

A Cash Advance fee is charged on the following types of transactions:

  • Using a Visa credit card at an ATM
  • Using a Visa credit card at a financial institution, face to face, to obtain cash

Cash Advance Fee does not apply to the following types of transactions:

  • Automatic transfers from Visa loan as an overdraft protection

Transfers from Visa product for Overdraft Protection result in a fee for each transfer.
