When will I have access to my tax information so I can file my tax return?
The 1099-C, 1099-INT, 1099-MISC*, 1099-R, 1099-SA, 1099-Q, 1098-E and 1098 form numbers will be available in January of each year. The forms will either be sent by mail or, if signed up for electronic delivery, will be available within Online Banking before January 31. The 5498 will be mailed in May in the event you make a previous year contribution to your IRA between January 1 and April 15. Tax documents will be mailed to you only if you are not registered to receive them electronically.
If you haven't previously registered for this service, current year's tax documents are not available for downloading. However, you can register at any time to receive your next year's Tax Documents electronically. You can register through Online Statements under Additional Services in your Online Banking account. (For this service, you will be required to sign up for Online Statements.)
What tax forms are available online?
The following tax forms are available online: 1098, 1099-INT, 1099-A, 1099-C, 1099-Q, 1099-R and 1099SA. All 1099 Misc tax documents will be sent via hard copy mail through the United States Postal Service.
How can I view my year-end tax information?
- Online - Simply log in to your account, select Online Statements under Additional Services menu and choose the documents you wish to download.
- December statement - All year-to-date interest and dividends earned and interest paid amounts, with the exception of 1st mortgage interest paid, can be found on your December statement.
- A 1098 form is not issued for loans on RVs and/or Motorhomes used as a residence. Find year-to-date interest paid totals on your December loan statement, if needed.
I never received my 1099-INT form for my taxes. Should I have received one?
Not everyone will receive a 1099 form. If you earned less than $10.00 in interest and dividends, we do not report those earnings to the IRS, therefore you will not receive a 1099 form for those earnings.
What if my earned dividends on the 1099-INT is more than the interest reflected on my end of year statement?
The 1099-INT balance can also include the following amounts in addition to dividends earned:
- Certain marketing promotions where monies are paid by Delta Community Credit Union to the member
- Early withdrawal penalties
- Federal tax withheld
- Foreign tax paid
- Bonds
