Be Prepared for Whatever Comes Your Way

Delta Community Credit Union is committed to improving the financial lives of its members. Each year, we award $50,000 in scholarships to support students' educational goals—$25,000 through our Annual Scholarship Program and $25,000 through our HBCU Scholarship Program.

Our Annual Scholarship Program awards are based on academic achievement, community service and submission of an essay on a topic selected by the Credit Union. Financial need may also be considered.

Delta Community Annual Scholarship Program

Delta Community annually awards five $5,000 scholarships for a total of $25,000. Scholarships are earmarked for tuition, books, lodging or meal costs and will be made payable to the college or technical school by Delta Community. The school must be accredited and located in the United States.

The 2025 scholarship application period is now closed. Please check back in February to apply for the 2026 scholarship.

Eligibility

Applicants must meet all of the following conditions:

  1. Be a Delta Community member and primary accountholder in good standing at the time of application submission (no delinquent loans, overdrawn or charged off accounts at the time the award is given, etc.). Members aged 16 and 17 can open an account with an eligible joint owner. Not a member? Open an account and become one today. 
  2. Be enrolled to attend an accredited college or university during the fall of the academic year as a full-time student pursuing their first undergraduate degree. Scholarship award must be used during the specified academic year. 
  3. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) as of the end of the prior semester.

Congratulations to our 2025 Scholarship Recipients

Asfa Karim

Asfa Karim is a sophomore at the Georgia Institute of Technology where she is majoring in business administration. Her academic excellence is highlighted by her consistent placement on the President’s List and achievements such as being a DECA ICDC international finalist and receiving the Best Overall Presentation Award at NCR Voyix. Asfa is also a career prep fellow with Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT) and has participated in initiatives like the Google Amplify event. She is committed to personal growth, earning certifications from Harvard University and Google. On campus, she is active in the Women in Tech and Women in Business clubs. Asfa’s passion for advocacy and mental health awareness shines through her leadership roles in founding Parkview Minds Matter and the WeCARE Support Group. She also volunteers with Camp Mosaic, Girls Guide Scouting and the Aga Khan Foundation.

Caleb Miller

Caleb Miller is a senior at Creekview High School and plans to attend Kennesaw State University to study entrepreneurship. A dedicated and high-achieving student, Caleb has earned several academic honors including AP Scholar with Honor, the Lamp of Knowledge award, Superintendent’s Key Scholar, UGA Certificate of Merit and participates in the National Rural and Small-Town Recognition Program. Beyond academics, Caleb is actively involved in his community and school through organizations such as Boy Scouts of America, Mu Alpha Theta and Beta Club. He also serves as a leadership assistant at Revolution Church, works as a lifeguard and pool technician and manages finances for the Creekview High School store.

Jaden Newman

Jaden Newman is a senior at Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School and plans to attend The College of Wooster majoring in biochemistry or biology. Her academic journey includes involvement in programs such as the Ambassador Leaders Program, PEAK Leadership Institute and the Congress of Future Medical Leaders. She is a member of the National Honor Society, National Art Honor Society and serves as the 2024–2025 vice president of the Science National Honor Society. Jaden is passionate about leadership and community engagement, participating in initiatives like the American Jewish Committee, Derma Club and the 21st Century Leaders Program. She actively volunteers with several organizations including City of Refuge, Trees Atlanta, Foster Care Support, MedShare and Truly Living Well Center for Natural Urban Agriculture.

Kyle Ssendagire

Kyle Ssendagire is a Brookwood High School student who graduated early in August 2024 to participate in a cultural exchange program in place of his senior year. He plans to attend the University of Georgia pursuing a pre-med track with a major in chemistry and German and a minor in Russian. Kyle’s academic achievements include being named a National Merit semifinalist and finalist, a Governor’s Honors Program finalist and a recipient of the National African American Recognition Award. He is active in service and leadership through the Brookwood High School executive board, Science National Honor Society and German Club. Kyle also volunteers with the Gwinnett County Summer Meals Program and Grace Snellville Church where he serves as an audio and sound technician.

Medha Krishna

Medha Krishna is a senior at Walton High School and plans to attend the Georgia Institute of Technology majoring in neuroscience. Medha’s academic excellence is reflected in her recognition as a National Merit finalist and AP Scholar with Distinction. She serves as captain of her school’s Science Olympiad team, leading them to victories at both the state and national levels including at the Harvard Science Olympiad Invitational. Her accolades also include the Georgia Certificate of Merit, National Latin Exam gold medal and awards from the Georgia Junior Classical League. In addition to her academic pursuits, Medha is actively involved in organizations such as Walton Community Outreach, Walton Habitat for Humanity, the Chattahoochee Nature Center and the Atlanta GA Table Tennis Association.
